In this 2-hour class participants will learn about the types of risk faced by entrepreneurs, how to assess their own risk tolerance, and how to mitigate risk through insurance.  They will also learn how to calculate, track, and manage their business’s burn rate.  The class will conclude with a discussion about long-term financial planning for the entrepreneur and how to develop the business’s exit strategy.

Kirsten Weiss is a Financial Advisor with SGC Financial, in San Mateo.  A native of San Mateo, Kirsten Weiss spent fourteen years overseas – most recently in Afghanistan and Pakistan – working in small business development and microfinance.  From this experience, she developed a passion for helping families and small business owners to create wealth and to protect what they care about most. Kirsten has an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the School of Global Management and is a 1990 graduate of UC Riverside.  She successfully completed the College for Financial Planning professional education program in 1999.
